[28 February 2026 (Saturday)] – You & Me Preschool welcomed families to a vibrant and unforgettable Chinese New Year celebration. The event was filled with laughter, excitement, and joyous moments, reflecting the school’s commitment to a fun, enriching, and culturally immersive learning environment. Parents and children enjoyed a day packed with performances, traditional festivities, and interactive activities that made the celebration truly special.
💃 Dance Performances – From Ballet to Latin
The stage came alive with the children’s dynamic dance performances. From graceful modern ballet to energetic belly dance, the children showcased their versatility and dedication. One of the standout highlights was Latin dance, part of the school’s core curriculum and a signature program at You & Me Preschool. Their rhythm and flair demonstrated the school’s commitment to nurturing multi-talented, confident, and expressive young learners.
🌟 Joyful Moments on Stage
The celebration featured lively group performances from every branch, including Puchong, Putra Heights, Kota Kemuning, and Klang. Each group brought its own energy and festive spirit, presenting cheerful Chinese New Year songs that filled the hall with joy.
A special highlight was a solo performance of “Let It Go,” where a young performer impressed the audience with her strong vocals and confident stage presence, reflecting the school’s focus on building confidence and self-expression in every child.
🎭 Traditional Face Mask Changing & Lion and Dragon Dance
You & Me purposely hired professional performers for a Sichuan Opera Face Mask Changing show, as well as Lion and Dragon Dance performances. The face mask changing captivated both children and parents, with swift transformations that left the audience in awe. Meanwhile, the Lion and Dragon Dance energized the event with lively movements, rhythmic drumming, and symbolic gestures of luck and prosperity, creating an immersive and visually stunning experience.
🥢 Tossing “Lao Sang” – Welcoming Good Fortune
A special highlight of the celebration was the traditional Lao Sang (Prosperity Toss), lovingly prepared by the teachers using a variety of fresh fruits. This healthier and more refreshing twist made the dish both meaningful and enjoyable for children and parents. As everyone gathered to toss the Lao Sang together, laughter filled the air, symbolising wishes for good luck, prosperity, and happiness in the year ahead.
📣 Cheerleaders and Audience Participation
The event was made even more lively by the school’s energetic teachers, who led the cheering from below the stage. With enthusiastic claps, chants, and encouragement, they boosted the children’s confidence and kept the energy high throughout the performances. Their active involvement elevated the atmosphere and encouraged children and parents to join in, reflecting the school’s emphasis on engagement, confidence-building, and a supportive environment where every child is encouraged to shine.
