[22 April 2026, Wednesday] – Smart Talent, Bandar Sri Permaisuri (Cheras) organised a fun and meaningful Earth Day celebration themed “Our Power, Our Planet”, giving children the opportunity to learn about protecting the environment through interactive discussions, hands-on activities, and creative crafts.
Throughout the day, children were immersed in a series of guided activities that encouraged them to explore how small, everyday actions can contribute to protecting the environment. The programme created a positive and engaging learning atmosphere, allowing children to connect with real-world environmental concepts in a fun and relatable way.
🌎 Learning About Earth Day & Caring for the Environment
Children were introduced to the importance of caring for the environment through simple, age-appropriate lessons tailored to their level of understanding. Teachers explained key concepts such as global warming, saving energy, and keeping the environment clean using relatable examples and interactive discussions.
To further reinforce these concepts, children participated in a meaningful “Lights Off for 1 Minute” activity. This simple yet impactful experience helped them understand how conserving electricity can play a part in protecting the Earth. Through these guided sessions, children began to recognise that even small actions, like switching off lights or reducing waste, can collectively make a big difference.
🌱 Planting Activity: Growing Green Together
A key highlight of the day was the hands-on planting activity, where children planted vegetables using egg trays, seeds, and soil. This activity provided a valuable opportunity for children to experience the process of planting and nurturing living things. As they planted their seeds, children learned how plants grow, what they need to survive, and the importance of watering them consistently. More importantly, this activity helped instill a sense of responsibility and care, as children understood that their actions directly impact the growth and health of the plants.
🎨 Creative Earth Craft Activity
Creativity was also an important part of the day, as children took part in a Paper Plate Earth craft activity. Using a variety of colourful materials, they created their own artistic interpretations of the Earth, inspired by what they had learned throughout the programme.
This activity not only reinforced their understanding of the planet and environmental care, but also encouraged self-expression and imagination. At the same time, children strengthened their fine motor skills through hands-on actions such as painting, sticking, and assembling different elements of their artwork.
🧹 Learning to Keep the Environment Clean
As part of their holistic learning experience, children were also guided to understand the importance of cleanliness and taking care of their surroundings. They participated in simple yet meaningful cleaning activities such as sweeping and wiping the floor.
