[25 September 2026, Friday] – Tadika Suria (Sungai Buloh) brought children and their families together for a warm and meaningful Mooncake Festival 2026 celebration, filled with traditional stories, songs, lanterns, festive activities and family bonding.
The celebration gave children a chance to experience the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival, in a fun and engaging way while learning more about Chinese traditions and the meaning behind this special occasion.
From a student performance and lantern riddles to candle lighting, festive treats and a lantern parade, the evening was filled with plenty of smiles and memorable family moments.

📖 Bringing the Mid-Autumn Festival Story to Life
The celebration began with a special student performance about the Mooncake Festival, where the children acted out the story and introduced some of the traditions associated with Mid-Autumn Festival.
Through the performance, the children had the opportunity to learn about Chinese culture while stepping into different roles on stage. It was also a wonderful way for them to build confidence, practise teamwork and share what they had learned with their families. Rather than simply learning about the festival in class, the children were able to experience the story in a more interactive and memorable way.

🏮 Fun & Festive Lantern Riddles for the Whole Family
Next came a fun lantern-riddle activity, where children and parents worked together to solve festive riddles.
The activity added a playful twist to the celebration, encouraging children to think, communicate and work together with their parents. With everyone getting involved, there were plenty of smiles and laughter throughout the activity. It was a simple way to combine learning and family bonding while enjoying the festive atmosphere.

🕯️ Lighting Up the Night with Songs & Smiles
The celebration continued with a special candle-lighting activity, as children and parents gathered together to light up the evening. With the candles glowing around them, teachers shared the meaning of light, hope, love and togetherness with the children. With teachers and adults supervising the activity, the children enjoyed this special hands-on experience while learning about another meaningful tradition of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
After lighting up the night, everyone came together for a special circle time filled with songs. Children and parents sang along and enjoyed the warm, cheerful atmosphere together. Moments like these gave children the opportunity to connect with cultural traditions through meaningful experiences, while creating little memories they can remember long after the celebration ends.

🥮 Mooncakes, Festive Treats & Family Time
Of course, no Mooncake Festival celebration would be complete without festive treats! Children enjoyed traditional Mid-Autumn snacks together with their parents, creating a relaxed opportunity for families to sit together, chat and enjoy the evening.
Beyond the food itself, sharing festive treats gave the children another way to experience the traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival and understand why family gatherings are such an important part of the celebration.

🏮 A Lantern Parade to End the Celebration
One of the highlights of the evening was the lantern parade, where children and parents picked up their lanterns and walked together around the school area. The glowing lanterns lit up the night as families enjoyed the cheerful atmosphere and captured special moments together. For the children, carrying their own lanterns made the celebration feel even more exciting and memorable.
The parade was a beautiful way to bring everyone together and end the evening on a festive note.

❤️ Celebrating Chinese Culture Through Meaningful Experiences
The Tadika Suria Mooncake Festival 2026 was more than just a festive celebration. It gave children an opportunity to discover Chinese traditional culture through stories, music, activities, food and family participation.
From performing the Mooncake Festival story and solving lantern riddles to singing together, lighting candles and joining the lantern parade, every activity allowed the children to learn and participate in their own way. Most importantly, the celebration created an opportunity for children, parents and teachers to spend meaningful time together.
For young children, cultural celebrations like Mid-Autumn Festival can be a wonderful way to make learning more memorable, turning traditions into experiences they can see, hear, touch and share with the people around them. At Tadika Suria, this Mooncake Festival celebration brought together culture, learning, family and fun, creating a night filled with light, laughter and little memories that the children can carry with them.
