Tadika Big Apple, Ara Damansara (PJ) Educational Field Trip to Aquaria KLCC

[15 December 2025, Monday] – Children from Tadika Big Apple, Ara Damansara (Petaling Jaya) enjoyed an exciting and educational field trip to Aquaria KLCC, one of Malaysia’s most well-known marine discovery centres. This carefully planned preschool outing was designed to extend classroom learning beyond the four walls, allowing children to learn through real-life exploration, observation, and hands-on experiences.

Discovering the Marine World Up Close

During the visit, children were introduced to a wide variety of marine animals, including colourful tropical fish, jellyfish, starfish, sea turtles and so on. Seeing these sea creatures up close helped children better understand ocean life, marine habitats, and biodiversity. This exposure supported early science learning and nurtured curiosity about the natural world.

🦈 Meeting the “Baby Shark” Family

One of the most memorable moments of the day was meeting the famous shark family. The cheerful guide introduced the children to different sharks, including “grandma shark” and “grandpa shark,” filling the space with laughter and excitement. Spotting smaller sharks instantly reminded many children of the popular Baby Shark song. Through this fun interaction, children learned that sharks come in different sizes and species.

🐟 Finding Nemo and Friends (Learning Beyond the Movies)

As children explored the vibrant aquarium tanks, many excitedly pointed out Nemo and Dory. The guide gently reminded them that Nemo & Dory is a character, while the real fish is called a clownfish and Blue Tang . This moment became a valuable learning opportunity, helping children connect cartoons with real animals.

💦 Walking Through the Underwater Tunnel

The underwater tunnel was a highlight of the Aquaria KLCC visit. Children watched in awe as sharks, stingrays, and large fish swam gracefully above their heads. This immersive experience encouraged observation, questioning, and language development as children described what they saw and shared their excitement with friends.

🐡 Feeding Performance and Interactive Learning

Another exciting moment was the feeding performance, where children observed how marine animals are fed and cared for by the Aquaria team. As fish gathered during feeding time, children learned simple facts about animal diets and daily routines. The experience became even more meaningful through interaction, as children exchanged smiles and high-fives with the Aquaria team. This friendly engagement made learning joyful and helped children feel confident interacting with adults outside their school environment.

🍟Meal Break at McDonald’s

After the visit to Aquaria KLCC, the children had a short meal break at McDonald’s, giving them time to rest and recharge after a full day of exploration. This meal session also provided an opportunity for children to practise daily life skills such as queueing, making simple choices, and eating independently in a public setting. Sharing a meal together encouraged social interaction and reflection, as children excitedly talked about the marine animals they had seen. These real-life experiences further supported Tadika Big Apple’s focus on holistic development and learning beyond the classroom.

🤝 Developing Social Skills Through Group Experiences

Throughout the trip, teachers guided discussions and encouraged children to ask questions, helping them connect what they saw to prior classroom learning. This experiential learning approach supports Tadika Big Apple’s philosophy that children learn best through exploration, interaction, and shared experiences. The outing also strengthened important life skills such as listening, following instructions, teamwork, and confidence in new environments. Sharing discoveries with friends made the experience even more meaningful.
